Job Category:
- Underwriting & Financial Analysis.

- Assess suitability of proposed clients for insurance – their financial strength, relevant work/ project experience, company structure/ HR /number of employees, finished similar projects, market reputation etc;
- Elaborate detailed quotations independently, including appropriate collateral packages to protect CERTASIG;
- Aware of reinsurance treaty conditions and liaise with reinsurance department as required for facultative reinsurance;
- Produce and underwrite business maintaining productive relationships with assigned agents/brokers;
- Interact and collaborate with a team of market segment colleagues and other critical internal/external business associates;
- Position requires English – written & spoken proficiency level.

Primary Duties

Responsibilities & Underwriting:
- Underwrite and assess risk for Bond products and accounts in a market segment;
- Make appropriate decisions within own underwriting authority and make appropriate recommendations to other underwriters;
- Within underwriting authority competence, make quick, sound decisions and negotiate terms and conditions consistent with - Bond market segment requirements and standards and within submission timeframes;
- Continuously analyze and manage book of business (maintain quality of business required by market segment strategy) including collaterals;
- Accountable for accurate underwriting documentation/ information in account management systems and adherence to documentation standards;
- Understand, embrace, execute, and foster Bond Guiding Principles/ Best Practices;
- Liaise with reinsurers as needed;
- Follow up claims handling process and recovery procedures.

Responsibilities & Broker Management:
- Develop productive broker/client relationships in support of business objectives through a high level of outside visibility with brokers and clients and a disciplined sales management approach;
- Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with colleagues;
- Identify and capture new business opportunities and effectively cross sell Bond market segment and other insurance products/businesses;
- Demonstrate superior customer service standards (consistency, quick response, knowledge of products);
- Customer interaction focuses on meeting customer expectations re response time and knowledge of products and business;
- Demonstrate operational excellence by complying with Best Practices and managing desk to meet customer expectations;
- Work tactically with brokers to ensure appropriate level of understanding of company goals and objectives;
- Represent CERTASIG in front of clients;
- Conduct self in a professional manner.

- Strong communication (written and verbal), influencing, negotiating, listening, and interpersonal skills to effectively develop/ maintain productive internal and external relationships.

- Develop a disciplined sales management approach (planning and follow-up) for agent/broker and end customer interaction, visits and meetings.
