Sales Director

Job Purpose:
- The Sales Director plays an essential role in creating and developing the network of branches, business development, recruiting and developing the sales force, managing the entire sales process.

Job Responsibilities:
- Achieves sales operational objectives;
- Prepares the annual sales budget for the national branch network, quarterly forecasts, manages directly the budget by continuously analyzing variances, initiating corrective actions with a focus on achieving and exceeding the objectives;
- Defines and implements a branch opening plan according to the geographical market opportunities and company's expansion strategy;
- Proposes and presents realistic business plans for each new potential branch to the Board of Directors, including market analysis, financial projections, organizational structure;
- Plays an active role in recruiting, orienting, training, assigning, coaching employees in view of securing the proper ramp up of the new branches;
- Manages the daily sales, productivity, quality, and customer-service ensuring the compliance with Platinum standards; conducts regular audits and analysis meetings with the branch teams identifying and focusing on improvement areas;
- Ensures a proper mix of distribution channels within the branches in cooperation with the Broker Sales Director
- Coordinates the proper implementation of the performance management system within the national branch network focusing on alignment to the organizational goals; ensures that regular performance reviews are performed by the Branch Managers stimulating outstanding performance and correcting poor performance;
- Plans and reviews the incentive scheme applicable to the branch network actions assuring the consistency with the company standards;
- Promotes empowerment, open communication and healthy competition between branches in view of creating a synergetic structure and team sprit; encourages innovation and excellence in all areas;
- Identifies the market opportunities by defining market, competitor's share, competitor's strengths and weaknesses, establishing targeted market share; coordinates the Marketing Director for articulated sales and marketing activities;
- Determines sales quotas for branches; projecting sales volumes and profit in accordance with the company's objectives and product portfolio mix;
- Improves product marketability and profitability by researching, identifying, and capitalizing on market opportunities, initiating product development and improvement;
- Enforces the use of company's policies and procedures and proposes changes in order to improve them;
- Cooperates with all departments within the Head Office to ensure efficient cooperation and communication with the branch network; represents the escalating instance in any potential dispute / conflict;
- Represents Platinum in the relationships with the strategic clients and partners, participates to professional events, etc;
- The Sales Director is a direct report to the CEO.

- Sound experience, at least 10 years, in sales and marketing, especially in developing and managing a national branch network with proven results;
- Deep knowledge of the non-life insurance industry and products;
- Strategic planning, Financial Concepts, Competitive Analysis, Positioning, People Management, Territory Management, Client Relationships;
- Leadership by example, team working abilities;
- Training and coaching skills;
- Excellent communication skills, capable to offer and receive constructive feedback;
- Strong minded in reaching goals and getting results;
- Hands-on approach and personal involvement in solving problems;
- Integrity and ethical behavior;
- University degree, preferably Economics;
- Excellent English communication skills.
